Guru Pournima at Ganagapur Temple
The Pournima in the month of Ashada is observed as an auspicious day called Guru Purnima, a day sacred to the memory of the great sage Vyasa Maharshi. Guru Purnima also marks the beginning of the Chaturmasya Vrata for Hindu Monks (Sanyasis). Datta Sampradaya has got Great Importance in the Guru Parampara as Lord Dattatreya is the Guru of all Gurus and so he is revered as "Adi Guru". The Divine Trimurti, Brahma, Vishnu and Maheshwara, in order to teach the world the Discipline of Yoga and Atma Vidya took incarnation as Lord Datta. As the Kshetradhipati of Sri Kshetra Ganagapur Shri Guru Narasimha Saraswati too was a Sanyasi belonging to the Sringeri Shankara Parampara , the Celebration of Guru Pournima has got utmost Importance at Ganagapur. In Nirgun Math Temple it is celebrated by way of Performing Vyasa Pooja at 11am in the Temple Premises by all the Pujaris. All other Gurus in the Parampara starting from Lord Sadashiva and others like Parashara Rishi, Suka Maharshi, Sri Adi Shankaracharya, Sri Vidyaranya, various others till Sri Guru Narasimha Saraswati are worshipped during the Puja.

Special Sevas like Sri Datta Paduka Puja, Annadanam, Guru Charitra Parayan and Sri Datta Yaga Homam can be performed.
