Maha Shivaratri at Ganagapur Temple
Mahashivaratri is one of the Major festival that is widely celebrated with great devotion with a sense of physical as well as mental purity and by fasting all day. It is celebrated on Magha Krishna Chaturdashi and generally falls in the month of February / March. It is celebrated at all the Temples in Sri Kshetra Ganagapur, viz Sri Datta Nirgun Math Mandir, Sri Kalleshwara Temple and the Temple at Sangam, by way of performing Yama Puja overnight. All the Pujaris (Archakas) of the Temple gather at the Mantapam of the Temple and the Chatur Yaama (4 Yamas) Pooja is done by way of performing Mahanyasa Poorvaka Rudrabhisheka from 10pm to 3am in the morning. Upon completion of Puja, 3 Parikramas are done to the Temple along with chanting of the Mararthi Bhajan “Madhava Patni Amba Udari” which narrates the Holy Life Story of Shri Guru Narasimha Saraswati. After the Maha Mangalarati the Daily Programs begins as usual with Kakad Aarti.

Paduka Pooja, Rudrabhishekam, Laghu Rudra, Parani Annadanam (Next Day) can be performed during Maha Shivaratri.
